Dr Mike Packer (Executive Director)

Mike joined Reforestation in early 2020, following senior strategy and business development roles in the UK wildlife conservation sector. Before that he was a Director at Global Canopy, Head of Natural Resources at H20 Venture Partners LLP, and Responsible Business Director of a major European timber trader. As Managing Director of ArborCarb Ltd he successfully completed one of the world’s largest tropical, native species reforestation projects. Mike holds an MA in Zoology from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Ecology from the University of Dundee.

Leopold Hall (Chair of Trustees)

Leopold was an Equity Partner at Mansford LLP, a UK focused real estate private equity fund. Prior to joining Mansford, Leopold worked at Phoenix Equity Partners where he focused on the origination, evaluation and execution of private equity transactions within the UK mid-market. Leopold holds a BA in English Literature & Philosophy from the University of East Anglia, a diploma in corporate finance from London Business School and an MBA from INSEAD.

Esteban Abad (Trustee)

Esteban is a Partner at Three Hills Capital Partners where he is focused on providing growth capital to European companies. Prior to THCP, he worked at Generation Investment Management, where he made credit investments in sustainability-focused companies. Before that he worked at Indigo Capital, a pan-European mezzanine fund, and Barclays Bank in both London and New York. Esteban is also the CEO and founder of Syer Advisers, a boutique advisory firm focused on ESG investing. He has been advising the City of London Corporation since 2018 on a variety of topics, including sustainable asset management, growth financing for greentech companies and green finance international cooperation programmes. Esteban holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a MA in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain.

Roberta Benedetti del Rio (Trustee)

Roberta was a Director at Generation Investment Management LLP, an independent investment management partnership dedicated to long term investing that integrates sustainability research into its investment process. Prior to joining Generation, Roberta worked in M&A with Morgan Stanley in London. While working at Morgan Stanley, Roberta co-founded Finance Matters (now part of the Finance Innovation Lab), a community of finance professionals passionate about sustainability and impact investing. Roberta holds a BBA and an MSc in Finance from Bocconi University.

Nick Scott (Trustee)

Nick is currently CEO of Pollinium, a group he founded in 2018. Pollinium cultivates and processes non-timber forest products for global markets and is currently working on the revival and regenerations of a number of Indonesian forests. Prior to founding Pollinium, Nick was a Portfolio Manager at Permian Global, a fund management group focused on tropical forestry assets. Nick holds a BA in History of Art from Leeds University and an Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
